Security Cameras Might Help Deter Break-Ins

Security cameras are often used to get a picture or video of any problems that may occur at your home or business. But what about the crimes security cameras possibly keep from happening?

What if having a security camera on your property would help to eliminate some break-ins? Studies show security cameras do not even have to be working to deter crime. “Fake” security cameras are sold every day, and it is believed that having a fake security camera installed will help keep away the criminal element.

When many would-be criminals see a surveillance camera system installed at a location they are targeting, they will usually move down the road to another location. Why would they take the risk of robbing a home or business where there are surveillance cameras being used?

Most criminals are looking for an “easy mark” and when there are security cameras installed, your home or business goes from looking easy to becoming a challenge.

Now imagine how a real professionally installed home or business security system will work. If you are worried about a possible break in, please consider having a security system installed at your home or business. If you are on a tight budget, remember something (fake security camera) is better than nothing.

Fake security cameras are very popular as a deterrent to crime. When many would-be criminals see a surveillance camera system installed at a location they are targeting they will most likely just move on down the road. Fake Security Cameras Look Authentic

Many fake cameras look so real that even a trained eye can’t tell the difference. There are a variety of bullet shaped simulated cameras that are typically installed on the outside of a business or home. There are also a few dome-shaped dummy security cameras for inside installation.

Fake security cameras do have a few features to consider. Several models come with a blinking red light to create the appearance of a real working camera. The blinking LED models require batteries and the batteries will need to be replaced regularly.

There are also models that have fake cables that look just like real functioning security camera cables.

Low Cost

There are a couple of advantages to using a fake security camera. The first advantage is their relative low cost. Dummy cams range in price from about $15.00 to $45.00 in contrast to real security cameras that can cost several hundred dollars each.

Ease Of Installation

The other major advantage is their ease of installation. Since there are no cables, all that is needed to install the camera is mounting it to a wall or ceiling. Installing a fake security camera is no more difficult than hanging a picture on the wall.

There is a disadvantage to consider when using fake security cameras as well… the most obvious being that the cameras do not actually work. Therefore, you cannot monitor or record any activity. If there is an incident, there is nothing to turn over to the authorities.

I‘m going to close this article out with an idea for a camera surveillance system that will provide protection on a lower budget… reduce the cost of your real working security camera surveillance system by mixing in a number of far less expensive fake security cameras.
